Standard 7: Ecology

The student will demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary for the study of ecology.

*Not correlated to State Grade Level Expectations

7.1 Recognize how living things interact with each other and their environment

 
7.1.1  recognize ways animals and plants are adapted for survival in different environments including organisms that live in more than one environment (e.g., camouflage, teeth, spines, leaves)
7.1.2  identify plants and animals that are adapted to different ranges of temperature and moisture
7.1.3  describe a food web showing the interdependence of plants and animals
7.1.4  observe the interactions of living things with each other and their environment in an aquarium and/or terrarium
7.2 Recognize how human beings impact the environment

 
7.2.1  explain why it is important to conserve resources that are used by people for water, food and shelter
7.2.2  recognize that people cause positive and negative changes in their environment
