Standard 2: Energy

The student will demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary for the study of energy.

*Not correlated to State Grade Level Expectations

2.1 Understand energy forms, sources and characteristics

 
2.1.1  identify ways that heat can be produced (e.g., burning, friction, solar, nuclear, electric)
2.1.2  measure the amount of heat absorbed by an object by using a thermometer
2.1.3  distinguish between a material that transmits light and a material that blocks light
2.2 Understand the relationship between food and energy

 
2.2.1  recognize the relationship of food to the need for daily energy
2.2.2  classify food by food groups using a graphic organizer
