Beginning Watercolor
For
all who think that watercolor is one of the most difficult mediums,
this course is designed to take away that fear. In this 10-week program
students will learn how to control this luminous art form and create a
finished work suitable for matting and framing. Material list will be
provided at registration.
Intermediate Watercolor This
course is designed to take beginning watercolorists further in their
understanding of the medium’s unique character. Emphasis will be placed
on composition, value, color temperature, atmospheric and linear
perspective, glazing, and color mixing. Demonstrations and critiques
will be integrated into each session. Individualized instruction as
well as a creative and supportive environment will provide each student
with the opportunity to explore their own unique style while building
on their experience level.
Advanced Watercolor
This course is designed for those who have taken both Beginning and Intermediate Watercolor and are looking for a creative, supportive environment to encourage them to continue to grow as an artist. Critiques are an integral part of each class.
Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain
Both the experienced and novice artist will be amazed at the improvement in their drawing skills as a result of this course. Designed as a series of exercises which enable the student to see with an artist’s eye and learn the “tricks” an artist uses to make drawings easier and more accurate, this 10 week course requires only a pencil, a sketchbook and a curious mind. The purchase of the book Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain by Betty Edwards is strongly recommended but not required.
Watercolor Open Studio
July 11 - August 29, 2007 This 8 week session is open to watercolorists at either the intermediate or advanced level. It is designed to provide each artist with 3 hours of uninterrupted time to paint and a supportive, creative environment in which to do just that. Group critiques will be built in to each session. Instruction will be on an individual basis as needed.
