I was born in Santiago de Chile. I hold a BA from the Universidad de Chile and taught in Santiago de Chile for 14 years, where I taught elementary school as well as high school.
In 1992 my family and I acompanied my husband to the United States after he obtained a position in his profession as a licensed physical therapist. We came to this country with our three children, Cristian, Jenny and Fernanda, who were 16, 14 and almost 7, respectively, at that time.
We first moved to Nacogdoches, Texas where I taught Spanish at the Stephen F. Austin State University as well as at a local elementary school. I also worked as a translator for the Nacogdoches Community Coalition, the Health Department of East Texas, the Women's Shelter and other charity organizations.
In July of 1995, we moved to Venice, Florida, because my husband accepted a position with the Bon Secours Hospital and since then I have been teaching all levels of Spanish, including medical Spanish, business Spanish and Spanish for some immigration law offices in the area. I started teaching Medical Spanish for the SCTI in 1995, after that I continued teaching Spanish 1 for the ACEC program, then Spanish 2 and 3, and... well you know, 4, 5, 6, 7 and Advanced Conversational... in other words, I almost live in my classroom!!! (But I love it!!!!!!!)
